1. To be alive. This is one thing I feel that most people just do not get. They do not realize how lucky they are to be alive. Some people complain on their birthday that they are one year older. What they do not know is that there are people who did not get to have a birthday. They did not make a whole year around the sun. I am so thankful to be alive today and I am thankful to be able to have opened my eyes today, because it can be taken so easily from you. 2. To be healthyI know that being healthy and being alive might seem like the same thing, but I do not see it that way. You can be very much alive and still be ill. There is people who are fighting for their lives every single day and they have no guarantee of a tomorrow. However, here I am, as healthy as I can be. We complain about so much. Having the flu? We complain. Have a little headache? We complain while there is people in the world with genuine problems like cancer. I am so truly thankful that I can say that I am healthy, and I know that tomorrow is a possibility for me. 3. To love & be lovedWe live in a broken world. People just do not open their selves up anymore and we do not trust so easily. We all have walls up to keep pain and disappointment out. The truth is, you also must love to be loved. Love works both ways and I am not only referring to romantic love, but also love between family and friends. I am both thankful and grateful that I have allowed myself to be open to love and to be vulnerable. I have let people into my life despite the possibility of them disappointing me. Yes, you will get hurt. People are cruel sometimes, but it should never stop you from loving further. I wish for all to open their hearts and let themselves love and be loved in return. If you get hurt along the way, so what? Better an ‘oops’ than a ‘what if’, right? 4. To be able to live out my religion.Just to be clear, I have respect for all religions and I do not in any way hate or discriminate against any religion.
I am Christian and a woman of God. I do not think we as Christians realize how lucky we are to be able to openly serve and praise our God. Christians in some foreign countries must stay in hiding in fear of being killed for being a Christian. They cannot own a bible or go to church or even sing worshipping songs to themselves. But we can, and I am so thankful. Thank you reading and please, if you have a religion different from mine, I would love to hear about it. So feel free to comment or contact me via social media or email.
